Subway and rail service changes: June 14-17, 2024 (2024)

Happy Friday! We're halfway through June and the weather is heating up. We hope you have plans to enjoy the warm, sunny weather forecast this weekend.

A heads up forriders: There are major service changes coming to thestarting June 28 and running through early September while we modernize signals. Learn more about these changes and sign up to receive a weekly newsletter about this project with travel alternatives, construction updates, and more.

And a note for our 14 St riders: The passageway between the ​​​​​and ​​​stations is closed this weekend. A free out-of-station street transfer is available using OMNY or MetroCard.

Here's what else is happening this weekend (also viewable as a handy map):

  • trains aren't running between Wakefield-241 St and E 180 St and are replacingtrains between Eastchester-Dyre Av and E 180 St.
  • trains aren't running in Brooklyn.
  • trains aren't running between Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer and Crescent St.
  • trains aren't running between 8 Av and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs.
  • Franklin Av Shuttle isn't running.

Major subway service changes

trains, the Bronx

From 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday,trains aren't running between Wakefield-241 St and E 180 St in either direction and are replacingtrains between Eastchester-Dyre Av and E 180 St in both directions. This is because of structural maintenance.

  • For service between Wakefield-241 St and E 180 St, take free shuttle buses, which are making allstops.
    • As an alternative, consider taking crosstown buses tostations.
  • For service between Eastchester-Dyre Av and E 180 St, take the.
  • trains are running between Flatbush Av-Brooklyn College and E 180 St, and on theto/from Eastchester-Dyre Av.
  • trains are running between E 180 St and Bowling Green, every 20 minutes during the day and evening.

trains, Brooklyn

trains aren't running in Brooklyn from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of structural maintenance.

  • For service between Borough Hall and Franklin Av-Medgar Evers College, taketrains.
  • For service between Franklin Av-Medgar Evers College and New Lots Av, take the, which is running to/from New Lots Av all weekend.
    • Transfer betweenandtrains at Fulton St.
  • trains are running between Woodlawn and Bowling Green.

trains, Brooklyn and Queens

trains aren't running between Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer and Crescent St in either direction from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track replacement.

  • For service between 121 St and Crescent St, free J90 shuttle buses are running between Jamaica Van-Wyckand Crescent St, making allstops between 121 St and Crescent St.
    • When exiting the subway at Jamaica-Van Wyck or Crescent St, get a GO Ticket from a station agent to re-enter.
  • For service to/from Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer and Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport, take the.
  • trains are running between Crescent St and Broad St.

trains, Brooklyn and Manhattan

trains aren't running between 8 Av and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs in either direction from 11:15 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of accessibility improvement work.

  • For service in Manhattan, take free L92 shuttle buses or the M14A-SBS, which make allstops between 8 Av and 1 Av and connect totrains at Delancey St-Essex St.
  • For service between Bedford Av and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs, take free shuttle buses, which are running on two routes:
    • Between Lorimer St and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs, making allstops.
    • A loop bus stopping at Lorimer St, Bedford Av, Marcy Av, Hewes St, and Broadway.
  • When exiting the subway atstations in Manhattan (except 3 Av and 1 Av), Metropolitan Av(Lorimer St), Marcy Av, Hewes St, Broadway, or Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs, get a GO Ticket from a station agent to re-enter.
  • For service between Manhattan and Brooklyn, taketrains.
  • trains are running between Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs and Canarsie-Rockaway Pkwy at all times, every 8 minutes during the day and evening.

trains are extended to 96 St on thefrom 8 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday to provide additional service between 14 St(6 Av) and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs.

  • trains are running between Middle Village-Metropolitan Av and 47-50 Sts-Rockefeller Ctr, on theto/from Lexington Av/63 St, and on theto/from 96 St.

Franklin Av Shuttle, Brooklyn

Franklin Av Shuttletrains aren't running from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of the St Marks Av Bridge replacement.

  • Free shuttle buses are running between Franklin Av and Prospect Park, making all Franklin Av Shuttlestops.
  • When exiting the subway at Franklin Av, Franklin Av-Medgar Evers College(Botanic Garden), or Prospect Park, get a GO Ticket from a station agent to re-enter.

Other subway service changes

trains, Manhattan

Uptownandlocal trains are making express stops from 14 St-Union Sq to 125 St from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of elevator replacement work.

  • For service to/from these stations, take a downtown local train.
  • trains are running every 8 minutes during the day and evening whiletrains share tracks in Manhattan.

trains, the Bronx

Pelham Bay Park-boundtrains are making express stops from Hunts Point Av to Pelham Bay Park from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of track replacement and station improvement work.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.
  • During the day and evening,​​​trains are running every 16 minutes in the Bronx. The last stop for alternate Bronx-bound trains is 3 Av-138 St. Transfer to a Pelham Bay Park-bound train to continue your trip.

trains, the Bronx

205 St-boundtrains aren't stopping at 170 St and 174-175 Sts from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of accessibility improvement work.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.

trains, Queens

Manhattan-boundandlocal trains aren't stopping from Forest Hills-71 Av to Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av all weekend because of station improvement work.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Forest Hills-boundor Jamaica-boundlocal train.

trains, Brooklyn

Coney Island-boundand Church Av-boundtrains are making express stops from Smith-9 Sts to Church Av from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of electrical maintenance.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-boundor Queens-bound train.
    • For service to/from 4 Av-9 St, you can also take a Bay Ridge-bound.

Manhattan-boundtrains aren't stopping at Avenue U from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 8 p.m. Sunday because of track maintenance.

  • For service to/from this station, take a Coney Island-bound train.

trains, Brooklyn

Manhattan-boundandlocal trains are making express stops from 59 St to Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of structural maintenance.

  • For service to/from 53 St and 45 St, take a Bay Ridge-boundor Coney Island-boundlocal train.
  • For service to/from 25 St, Prospect Av, 4 Av-9 St, and Union St, take the.
    • Manhattan-boundtrains are running local from 36 St to DeKalb Av all weekend.

trains, Brooklyn

Coney Island-boundtrains are making express stops from Prospect Park to Sheepshead Bay from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of electrical improvement work.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.

Long Island Rail Road service changes

Hempstead, Port Jefferson, and Ronkonkoma branches

Eastbound trains aren't stopping at Hollis, Queens Village, and Elmont-UBS Arena, and Hempstead, Port Jefferson, and Ronkonkoma Branch trains are running on adjusted schedules from 2 a.m. Saturday to 7:30 a.m. Sunday. This is because of station repairs.

  • Buses are running from Jamaica to Hollis and Queens Village.
    • Buses aren't stopping at Elmont-UBS Arena. For service to/from this station, use nearby Bellerose.

Port Washington Branch

Trains aren't running between Great Neck and Port Washington from 12:45 a.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday because of track maintenance.

  • Buses are running between Great Neck and Port Washington.
    • Buses aren't stopping at Plandome because of low bridges in the area. For service to/from this station, use nearby Manhasset.
