Slayer task/Greater demons (2024)

Greater demons can be assigned by Krystilia, Chaeldar, Konar, Nieve/Steve and Duradel/Kuradal. Despite their "greater" status, they possess a somewhat lackluster drop table, with their two most valuable drops being the rune full helm and the hard clue scroll. There are many different types of greater demons residing around Gielinor; however, with the exception of the Wilderness Slayer Cave, all have the same drop table.

When not killing greater demons as part of Konar or Krystilia's tasks, players have many spots to choose from to kill greater demons. The most common spots are the Chasm of Fire and Catacombs of Kourend; the former is a cannonable area allowing for plenty of AFK and fast kill times, while the latter has access to the ancient shard and dark totem piece drops. It is also a Multicombat area, allowing for players to AFK until the aggression timer expires, which can be easily reset.

In the Wilderness, players have several spots to kill greater demons from. The most common would be the Wilderness Slayer Cave due to the enhanced drops, multiway area and allowing a cannon, but this spot is frequented often by player killers, so players should not bring items they are not willing to lose. The Demonic Ruins is a much worse spot, due to being a far deeper multiway area and players tend to teleport in via Annakarl Teleports. A less secluded spot is the Lava Maze Dungeon, but accessing it requires a long trek around the maze, or 82 Agility (boostable at 77) for a shortcut that cuts a significant amount of time.

Players who have completed While Guthix Sleeps may also kill Tormented Demons for the progression of a greater demon task. These are a significant step up compared to normal greater demons and require a minimum of two combat styles in order to be fought. They provide extremely good experience rates (with each kill being 1,065 slayer experience) and can drop the tormented synapse, which is used to create high tier, best-in-slot demonbane weaponry.

The bosses Skotizo and K'ril Tsutsaroth also count towards greater demons for the purpose of a slayer task. Skotizo requires a dark totem in order to access, and with guaranteed clue scroll drops, this should only be done if the player wants to complete some Treasure Trails on the side. K'ril requires a minimum of level 70 Hitpoints and partial completion of Troll Stronghold in order to access. His bodyguard Tstanon Karlak also counts as a greater demon.
